Workshop type

This in depth training and group supervision is being provided by Dr Danielle Einstein and Professor Jessica Grisham throughout 2026.

In the workshop we will improve your expertise in treating OCD with a brief review of the basics of evidence-based treatment for OCD before delving into advanced skills training. We will discuss strategies to maximise the benefits of exposure and explore cognitive approaches for different types of OCD presentations. We will look at how acceptance-based strategies may be integrated into treatment, to improve exposure based on recent research and our own clinical practice. We will cover imagery rescripting and novel cognitive strategies to increase treatment engagement. By the end of this presentation, clinicians should have new approaches to address motivational issues head-on, a range of skills and techniques to use in treatment and know how to get the most out of exposure. We will discuss how to tailor your treatment and provide practical suggestions and tips for challenging OCD presentations.

For those who enrol in supervision, the workshop is followed by 4 monthly group supervision sessions. Whilst strategies are provided in the workshop running in February and March, you will ensure learnings can be applied in your own practice by attending monthly online group supervision sessions between April and July. Supervision will help you to recognise underlying motivational traps that can interfere with progress. Listen to your peers as the group discusses therapeutic challenges. In this part of the training, you will learn to recognise signs that OCD treatment is veering off track and be encouraged to reset your direction. Providing effective OCD treatment can be challenging and this workshop and training is designed to help you improve your competence in delivering effective treatment to your clients.
