Navigating Today's Challenges - Technology Use and Anxiety
These parent sessions provide guidance on managing either worries or social media use and technology in the home. They guide parents to foster healthy conversations and strong boundaries with school students.
Session 1: Managing Technology Use and Anxiety for Years 3 to 6
A tailored school session for parents, focusing on best practice for home use of technology in a healthy and age-appropriate way to minimise anxiety and maximise healthy device use. The session will empower parents with knowledge and confidence to support their child’s well-being and contain technology use.
This interactive session includes 15 minutes for Q&A.
Session 2: Responding to Worry in an Age of Constant Connection
Connectivity with teenagers brings with it a freeway of worries. Today's parents need to consider how to sort through and respond to these worries whilst building their child's ability to work through problems, mature and increase their independence.
In this session, Dr Einstein will provide practical tips on how to navigate your child's everyday worries, and common worries experienced by parents.
This interactive session includes 15 minutes for Q&A. Sessions are grouped by age to ensure relevant discussions.
Session 3: Understanding Social Media Use for teens: Supporting your child at home A session for parents of tweens and teens.
This session equips parents with practical strategies to address social media use, including:
- How to talk to your child about their use of social media.
- Making adjustments to create a balanced digital environment at home.
This interactive session includes 15 minutes for Q&A and is designed for parents of children in Years 6, or 7 to 8. Sessions are grouped by age to ensure relevant discussions.
Staff sessions focused on worry and mental load are available prior to the evening parent session.
