More about Group Supervisors

Dr Danielle Einstein is a clinical psychologist in her own private practice in Sydney. She has been providing treatment for anxiety disorders for nearly 30 years. She started her career as Head of the Anxiety Clinic at Westmead Hospital and has researched optimal ways to influence technology use in youth alongside her clinical work in a range of projects with secondary school teachers and academics. In 2013, Dr Einstein published a review of uncertainty within treatment to help clinicians ensure that they challenge uncertainty within traditional CBT and ACT techniques. Since then she has been working on new methods to target uncertainty efficiently with teens, young adults, adults and parents who worry excessively.

Dr Belinda Pratt is a clinical psychologist working with young people and families since 1996. She has worked in two Sydney-based children’s hospitals, and opened her private practice in 2010. Belinda utilises principles of CBT, DBT and strategic family therapy. She regularly treats anxiety in young people, often adjusting treatment plans to accommodate co-occurring conditions such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and eating disorders.

Ms Sayeeda Ghani is a clinical psychologist who has worked in child, adolescent and family psychology as well as perinatal psychology for 20 years. Her work is influenced by attachment theory and she utilises principles of CBT, DBT and attachment based family therapy. She has worked in public, private and not for profit organisations and also has recently co-written an emotion coaching program for parents with the UTS, Health Psychology Unit. She currently works in private practice at Psychstuff4kids in Chatswood as well as at the Gidget Foundation. She values facilitating improvements in young people's wellbeing in the context of supportive family relationships.

Theoretical Commentary: Professor Jessica Grisham Jessica Grisham is an academic Clinical Psychologist and Professor in the School of Psychology at UNSW Sydney. She received her PhD from Boston University in 2005 and moved to Sydney soon after for a post-doctoral position in Psychiatry. She and her students conduct research on the phenomenology and treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and OC spectrum disorders, such as hoarding disorder. She has conducted research on the onset of generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) and changes in risk-taking after internet-based treatment for GAD. More recently she and her students have examined basic processes and clinical applications of mental imagery in worry, including imagery rescripting for GAD. Her recorded commentary on this approach to worry will be shared.
