Do you have teenage or young adult clients who are anxious and worry to excess? Do they get stuck in their heads or screens, avoiding their daily responsibilities, or refusing to do anything without a safe or certain outcome? Are parents or clients concerned about their potential failure and do you want to help them turn avoidant patterns around?
Join Dr. Einstein for an engaging workshop, followed by group supervision (Optional). This training program is designed specifically for health professionals working with anxiety in teenagers and their families. The workshop will focus on addressing Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), anxiety, and avoidance, as well as the intertwined issues of device use, worry, and family beliefs which can stall treatment progress.
Workshop Breakdown:
Work through Dr Einstein's new method for conquering worry to assist teens and young adults to navigate worry, social anxiety and everyday challenges. Understand what to prioritise during assessment; how to position treatment; how to address social media use and essential steps to engage with both teenagers and their parents to promote change. Complete steps in the worry model aimed at developing resourcefulness and healthy use of social support. Understand common misconceptions in the treatment of panic.
More about Group SupervisorsDr Danielle Einstein is a clinical psychologist in her own private practice in Sydney. She has been providing treatment for anxiety disorders for nearly 30 years. She started her career as Head of the Anxiety Clinic at Westmead Hospital and has researched optimal ways to influence technology use in youth alongside her clinical work in a range of projects with secondary school teachers and academics. In 2013, Dr Einstein published a review of uncertainty within treatment to help clinicians ensure that they challenge uncertainty within traditional CBT and ACT techniques. Since then she has been working on new methods to target uncertainty efficiently with teens, young adults, adults and parents who worry excessively.
Dr Belinda Pratt is a clinical psychologist working with young people and families since 1996. She has worked in two Sydney-based children’s hospitals, and opened her private practice in 2010. Belinda utilises principles of CBT, DBT and strategic family therapy. She regularly treats anxiety in young people, often adjusting treatment plans to accommodate co-occurring conditions such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and eating disorders.
Ms Sayeeda Ghani is a clinical psychologist who has worked in child, adolescent and family psychology as well as perinatal psychology for 20 years. Her work is influenced by attachment theory and she utilises principles of CBT, DBT and attachment based family therapy. She has worked in public, private and not for profit organisations and also has recently co-written an emotion coaching program for parents with the UTS, Health Psychology Unit. She currently works in private practice at Psychstuff4kids in Chatswood as well as at the Gidget Foundation. She values facilitating improvements in young people's wellbeing in the context of supportive family relationships.
Dr Judith Locke is a registered clinical psychologist, former teacher, and school counsellor. She speaks to parents, teachers, and students throughout Australia and internationally, on topics related to modern parenting, family wellbeing, and academic environments. Judith is the author of two best-selling parenting books, The Bonsai Child and The Bonsai Student, the first of which has been published in China.

Online on a Wednesday, see available booking times (between 12 and 2pm)(or 9 and 10am AEDT) on the 14th May, 21st May, 4th June and the 11th June 2025. If for any reason you are not able to attend the scheduled online supervision session you have booked, make up group supervision times will not be offered. Supervision groups are closed groups.

We have chosen supervisors deliberately with different strengths to complement one another and provide a rounded discussion of the workshop components. Group supervision will be led by a combination of Dr Einstein, Dr Belinda Pratt, Ms Sayeeda Ghani or Dr Judith Locke. In extenuating circumstances another experienced practitioner may be invited to co-facilitate a group supervision session. Issues relating to neurodivergence will be discussed within group supervision.

This workshop is for mental health professionals who work with adolescents. Whether you are experienced in this field or looking to expand your expertise, this training series will provide you with valuable knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in areas that you may commonly get stuck in with your clients. It is assumed that you are familiar with Cognitive Behavioural and Acceptance and Commitment Approaches to Treatment and a knowledge the basics of these approaches will not be covered within the workshop or supervision. You must also hold registration to practice to participate in the supervision.
